Between stone and sun

The project is about designing and building a house in Eilat, a city in the south of the country with a hot and dry desert climate. Because of the hard weather, the project focused on finding building solutions that keep the inside of the house cool and private. To do this, the house was built with outside thermal insulation, a shaded wall with a solar screen to block strong sunlight and solar panels to create electricity. The building materials like granite stone, clay and cork were chosen because they help stop heat and keep the inside cool. Also, a smart air system was made with pipes that help control the air and water inside the house. The project shows how to mix comfort, sustainability and good design in a difficult desert environment.
