Grezim Park

Grizim Park was closed off from the street and divided into three separate parts that couldn’t be accessed from inside the park people had to go out to the street to move between them. This made the park hard to use and limited how residents could enjoy it. To improve it, we removed the outer fence to open the park to the neighborhood, closed the parking lot to cars and connected all three areas into one open and continuous space.
We added different types of seating for all ages and needs for families, relaxing or eating together to encourage people to stay and interact. We also made sure to keep the youth center private, and most importantly, we protected the existing trees and greenery because they give the park its special natural feeling and provide shade and comfort. The result is an open, flexible and welcoming park that supports community life while keeping its unique green character.
